1) FOLLOWING A MORNING RITUAL
Your time management starts right from waking up.It is said that morning time is the best time because one’s mind is most fresh at this time of the day. The Quran expresses this fact in the following words, “The recitation at dawn is indeed witnessed.” Hence, if you set your morning right the complete day will go in the right direction. Let us assume if you wake up at 12.00 AM, the rest of the hours will be wasted in stressing about the lost time and then you won't be able to make the day properly utilized. So, Make sure to have a fixed morning ritual right from waking up till the few hours. Those few hours are the golden period of the day. You should choose that hours for very crucial tasks. Make sure you do little exercise right after waking up or just a walk because that will bring in you calmness and freshness. And that saying would perfectly fit here that,
Early to bed, early to rise; makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.
2) MAKING SECTIONS OF UNINTERRUPTED TIME
We all have that habit of scrolling our mobile phones during our work time. This breaks our focus and we waste lot of our time in this. Therefore,it becomes very important to set aside all your distractions and stay focused while you do your work. Fact says that it takes about 23 minutes to bring back the focus once lost. So, picking only one task at a time and getting into the zone without any distraction in the take away point here. Divide 45-15-45 minutes work regime and follow it honestly. It would be better if you put your phone on air plane mode during the work time. Also, during the 15-minute break session do not hop on to the phone rather do something productive like reading newspaper. This habit will save you lot of your time and you would be able to finish all your work on time
.
3) FOLLOW 80/20 RULE
There is a simple saying:
Men do not let anyone seize their estates, but they allow others to encroach on their lives.
In time management, this rule says that for every 20% time you invest for others, invest 80% on yourself. This rule is applicable in all fields like business, economics and personal relationships It simply means if you do some work that is not productive for you, but you do it for others, make sure you do something for yourself. Rather than taking phones, unnecessary conversations and binge watching you could simply do the activities that are productive for you. And that's up to you that which activities do you find productive for you.
4) DOING 10X ACTIVITIES
Sort out activities that give you 10x return on your time investment. Even after 5 hours of scrolling Facebook and Instagram, you will never get 50 times the return. So, use the time wisely and do the things that are productive for you. Do what moves you towards your goal.A quotation says:
Business has only two functions: Marketing and Innovation, everything else is a cost.
That means for a business, all they need to invest on is marketing and innovation and all other activities are simply the cost, not investment. So, make sure where are you investing your time and if that is productive or not.
5) BRING THESE 3 CHANGES TO YOUR LIFE
Time Management can be done effectively by following these three ways. Or we can simply put, by bringing these 3 changes into your schedule. While it may take you a month or even a year to manage your time effectively but it's never too late. So, the first thing is to make a to-do list every night before sleeping, for the next day. This would ensure that you have a fixed set of tasks to be done. Second thing that you must make a habit is to set a short-term SMART goal that would give you your productive activities for a time period. SMART here refers to Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely. And the third change you need to bring is STOP PROCRASTINATING. Never delay your tasks no matter how difficult they're. Humans have that habit to pushing things that appear to be difficult for them. But what you always need to do is JUST START. Begin with your work and this will give you much more encouragement and will power.
And yes, a great ability of time management.
